One of the most expensive and most famous diamonds is a 41-carat D flawless which is called the Ashoka diamond. It was mined in the Golconda region of southern India and was named after Ashoka Maurya, a Buddhist warrior-emperor. Many believe that this original Ashoka diamond has the power to take away sorrow. This original infamous Ashoka diamond is now in the hands of William Goldberg who thought of recreating the beauty of the original diamond by making new diamonds based on the cut of the original Ashoka diamond.
The William Goldberg Ashoka was patented in 2000 and diamonds with the Goldberg Ashoka cut are now available in rare Ashoka diamond jewelry. These diamonds have 62 facets and are based on the cushion cut with a rectangular girdle outside and rounded corners. The results are diamonds that are famous for being extremely radiant and brilliant.
Unlike other diamonds, a diamond with an Ashoka cut is rarely available as a loose stone. However, William Goldberg has made the stone available in earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, cufflinks, and watches. Still, jewelry with diamonds that have the patented William Goldberg Ashoka cut are not easy to come by. They are sold exclusively by only a few jewelers or you could get it direct from the William Goldberg Corporation. Just like any jewelry, buying only from the authorized jewelers is the only way to guarantee that you get the quality Ashoka diamond jewelry you deserve.
